About Us

20+ years of knowing Africa intimately

There’s a difference between selling a safari and designing one, and it’s a difference you feel the moment you arrive at camp and your guide already knows your name, your interests, and exactly which sighting to chase that afternoon because of something you mentioned in an email three months earlier. That difference is what we’ve spent twenty years building.

Trevaron is a locally owned Kenyan safari company, born and run from right here on the ground, not a desk in another time zone reading the same brochure copy as everyone else. We specialise in private, tailor-made safaris across Kenya and Tanzania, with bespoke outbound journeys to destinations beyond Africa for clients who want the same standard of personal planning wherever they’re headed next. Every safari we build is driven by 4×4 Land Cruiser, privately, with a dedicated driver guide, and shaped entirely around the people taking it.

Designed by people who know the camps

Not just the catalogue

We don’t work from a fixed list of packages. We work from two decades of relationships: with camp managers who’ll hold a particular tent because we asked, with guides who know a conservancy’s resident leopard by name, with conservancies themselves, the private, low-density wilderness areas that consistently deliver the best wildlife encounters in Kenya and Tanzania. When we recommend a camp, it’s because one of our safari designers has been there, slept in the tent, and knows exactly what kind of traveller it suits.

That knowledge is what separates a safari built for you from a safari built for a brochure. We ask the questions that matter before we suggest a single itinerary: who’s travelling, what kind of pace you want, whether you’re chasing a specific sighting or simply want to be somewhere beautiful with nothing booked too tightly. From there, we design.

Private, considered, and genuinely yours

Every Trevaron journey is exclusive to the people on it. No shared vehicles with strangers, no fixed group schedule dictating your day. Your guide adjusts the plan as the day unfolds, because the best sightings rarely happen on a timetable. Whether you’re drawn to the river crossings of the Great Migration, a private conservancy in Laikipia, the slow rhythm of a family safari, or a honeymoon built entirely around privacy and quiet luxury, the itinerary in front of you was built specifically for that trip, not adapted from one that already existed.

This same standard carries through to our outbound journeys, holidays beyond Kenya and Tanzania designed with the same attention to detail and the same hands-on planning that defines everything we do closer to home.

Two decades, one standard

We’ve spent twenty years learning which camps genuinely deliver, which guides go further than their job requires, and which small details turn a good trip into one our clients still talk about years later. That experience doesn’t sit in a database. It sits with the people who design your journey, and it’s available to you from the very first conversation.
