When should I travel to see the Mara River crossings?
Late July through October offers the best chance of witnessing crossings, as the herds push north from the Serengeti into the Maasai Mara. No single date can be guaranteed, since the migration follows rainfall rather than a calendar.
What's the difference between river crossing season and calving season?
River crossing season (July to October) centres on the dramatic Mara River crossings as herds move between Tanzania and Kenya. Calving season (December to March, peaking in February) is quieter in spectacle but more sustained, with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest calves born across Tanzania’s Ndutu plains and predator activity at its most concentrated.
Can I see the migration in both Kenya and Tanzania on one trip?

Verified Best travel agency you could wish for. The team at Trevaron (in particular Charles) really went above and beyond our expectations. From the very beginning, every aspect of our dream (but horribly impractical in hindsight) safary was taken into account into selecting the itinerary and activities. Charles made the long, long week fly by with his sense of humour and incredible knowledge of the parks we visited, and the beautiful Kenyan nature took care of the rest. This has honestly been the best experience I've ever had, and Trevaron were an integral part of making it happen. Thank you!

Verified 3 days fantastic experience My friends and I had a fantastic 3 day safari trip with Trevaron Tours. It was pleasing that our communication with Hannah was easy, quick and efficient, moreso she was available to assist us even during odd hours and weekends. Prior to the trip, she gave us useful advice which was also a big plus. Our driver Felix was a real asset to the trip, being not only a responsible and skilled driver but also a friendly and interesting conversation companion. It's wonderful that our first experience in Kenya was made great and wonderful by Trevaron Tours, and we have unforgettable memories from our trip. Verified Making amazing Memories!! What can I say, we wanted a memorable Safari and Africa experience in Kenya and that is exactly what Hannah delivered. She design an amazing itinerary and was so well organized and punctual. We even wanted to change accommodation in the middle of the festive season and she was able to pull it off. She was always reachable even during the holidays. Simon our driver and guide also did an amazing job, and was so knowledgeable. Verified Brilliant Safari Trevaron travel and Tours arranged our 2 week trip to Kenya and did a wonderful job. Hannah went above and beyond to make sure the holiday was exactly what we wanted, and even though I kept changing my mind, she dealt expertly with all the changes. She was there to meet our delayed flight at midnight, cheerful and efficient and could not have been more charming. Simon drove us, with great skill, over 2,000 kilometres on roads that were not the easiest. He was a great guide with X-ray eyes, managing to get us close to a cheetah hunt and kill, (we were the only ones there) and he also got us close to a serval on TWO occasions! The entire trip was a huge success. The accommodation was brilliant and the food excellent. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.

Verified The most wonderful trip. Hannah could not have been more helpful when planning the trip which had many uncertainties during this stage due to travel restrictions. On arrival she did everything to make us comfortable and welcome. Our guide and driver, Simon, was absolutely superb. He has a great deal of knowledge and took us to the most amazing sightings. His driving skills are wonderful, and I always felt safe being driven by him on some rather hairy roads. The accommodation booked for us was all high quality and generally excellent. All in all, the trip exceeded our expectations. I would certainly book again with them and have no hesitation in recommending Trevaron.

Verified Safari across Kenya I had not been to my native country for 15 years. I contacted Hannah and she planned my entire three week stay that included travelling to my local hot spots, hotels, a ten day safari and a trip to Diani Beach. Everything went smoothly. On our return back to the United States there was a glitch with our flight. I called Hannah and she immediately had us picked up and taken to a nearby hotel where we stayed overnight. Hannah and her team of drivers and expertise were amazing. I will definitely use Trevaron Tours again and highly recommend them.

Verified Super days with Don in Masai Mara. A couple of super days with Don aka. Dan in Masai Mara. Don is an inspiring guide who knows what he is doing. The guiding tour starts already when we leave Nairobi with stories about the the city. We go via smaller roads, in masai country, towards our camp (Rhino) in Masai Mara. Lots of gams along the way. In Masai Mara Don describe spieces, have funny names of some of them in the same time he do a realy serious work to give us the best experience.
